Stella Roll

To my favorite gal, Stella Grace Roll.

There is so much that I could say about Stell, and I'm going to say it; so sit down and enjoy.

I had the pleasure of meeting Stella when we both got chosen to be SOLs. As we joke with each other now, our first memories of one another are oddly... neutral? We didn't pay much attention to each other. Our friendship wasn't on the radar. Slowly, but surely, we became closer by working more hours with each other and sharing some funny tales of personal mishaps.

We both later got chosen to be Student Ambassadors, and we were excited to move onto our next journey together. The part where the story gets good is when we found out we had the same Research Methods and Statistics course together. For those who may not be familiar, that class is difficult. We kept each other sane by keeping each other accountable. And that is when I realized, Stella has that special quality of high accountability. She holds herself to high standard, and reminds me to hold myself to my own high standard. As cliche as it sounds, I think we make each other better. For the qualities she has an abundance of (patience, rational reasoning, stating blatant truths, playing devil's advocate, actually going to Spanish class, etc.), I sometimes lack; and she helps me regroup those qualities. I hope that I help her, too, in different ways. We tend to be two peas in a pod.

Stella's friendship means the world to me, and I intend to keep it for a very long time. I am very thankful that the universe decided to cross our paths. I consider Stella to be one of my best friends in the classroom and outside of school. I look forward to our Friday relief lunch dates, our singing FaceTime calls, our computer concourse collaboration, our deep talks about life, our inside jokes, and making our goofy memories. I also love teaming up with our close friends Liz and Aliyah --- without our little group, life would be boring.

I am so proud of Stella. Genuinely, I don't think she realizes how often  I think about her amazing accomplishments and admire her attributes. She is top tier in so many different regards. Stella does not give herself enough credit! She is so intelligent, very resourceful, rational, understanding, hilarious, and is overall just one of my favorite people. I have not a person who doesn't love and respect her. She is naturally very likable because she is such a sweetheart to everyone.  She is an amazing best friend to experience college with. Without her, I do not know where I would be everyday. She makes coming to school so much fun, even on days where we are dreading long work hours, an intense exam, or simply not vibing with the day.

With whatever Stella decides to do in her future, I know that I will not be surprised by her successes. She naturally has what it takes... to be a great student, a hard worker, and an even better friend. She will go very far in her field and will accomplish many more amazing things. I hope I get to be there to see it. I will always be on her team, rooting for her. I am excited to see where we go next.

Stella, thank you for being you. I am so glad I met you. You are amazing and I hope you know how much I appreciate your existence. I love you lots!
