This week picked up with all the engaging events flowing throughout campus in the last few days. I am excited to report all the inclusive happenings that have engaged our student body on campus! I had a welcome desk shift, three admissions shifts, and two events.

My first event was visiting an FYE course and presenting information about Student Life with Sarah and Jasmine. Jasmine and I were able to talk about our experiences with student life, and told our stories. It was such a cool experience to talk about how far I've come since Freshman Year. I did not realize how much personal and professional growth I've underwent, until I sat in front of 20 college students starting their journey. I find peace in knowing that I am exactly where I need to be.

The second event was the UC Blue Ash Dash for Scholarships. The 5K race was a blast to volunteer at with Sage, Stephen, and Kifaya. We stood at the turnaround Water Station and distributed water cups for thirsty runners. It was so nice to interact with our community and university, and be able to give back to those who contribute to our scholarship funds.

An example of servant leadership was us Ambassadors working the water station. We were able to give something to others, rather than taking. There were so many small children, dogs, and parched participants who loved to see our face and drink their water. While the participant drank, I fed their dogs water so they didn't have to tack the extra time onto their race. Everyone appreciated the extra mile I took to make sure their families and pets were taken care of.

 

As for class, we are reaching a point in the semester where our first big exams have happened and are regularly showing up. We are studying in all my classes for quizzes and exams. In Research Methods and Statistics, we are studying by practicing SPSS and creating study guides. In Spanish we are learning new verbs, and in Developmental Psychology we are learning about the early childhood stages.
