Week 3: September 8- September 14

The third week of school has past and gone, but it was a fast week for me! I guess you could consider it my "bye" week because I did not have as much to do this week, which allowed me to recharge! I had three Admissions Office shifts, the Ambassador Meeting, my 1:1 meeting with Hawa, and a welcome desk shift.

I did not work any Ambassador events this week, however I did work an Admissions event. On Thursday, I woke up extra early that morning in order to assist with our annual Counselor's Breakfast at Cooper Creek. At this breakfast, local high school counselors were able to learn more about UC Blue Ash. I checked guests in and handed out materials. I was super happy to lessen the load my Admissions team had, and make the event go smoother for them. It was great to be a part of an event that encourages the future growth of our college.

That event was an example of servant leadership, because I had to wake up at five in the morning in order to help set the event up at 6:30 a.m. I was happy to help because I knew this event was a great cause. Although waking up early may not be my favorite thing, I knew my impact would be important for this event. Also, I attended the flag raising ceremony in memory of 9/11. I find this to be a part of servant leadership because leaders should be present during these events in order to show their respect and honor greater leaders.

In my Research Methods and Statistics class, we are learning how to use the online statistical programming system SPSS. Luckily, I seem to have a pretty solid grasp on the idea which makes homework and class assignments a little bit easier. I am lucky to sit through that class with Stella!

Next week will pick back up and I am ready!
