Week 5: September 22 - September 29

This week was one of my most productive weeks yet! I had one Ambassador event, three admissions shifts, multiple meetings, and multiple tests. Let's just say, this weekend of relaxation was well reserved.

One event that I took part in was the Positive Message Chain for Suicide Prevention week. Students are asked to write phrases of hope or a memory with someone who lost their lives to suicide. Stella and I enjoyed interacting with students in order to promote a positive activity with a purposeful cause. As Psychology majors, we love to dip our toes in the water of mental health and its importance. We got many students to participate!

As my contribution towards servant leadership this week, I actually experienced something unique. In the Admissions Office, we had a family walk in to apply, as they were from Columbus and couldn't make it to our Open House events. After they applied, they asked for a campus tour, but unfortunately, all professional staff members were busy and there were no tour times that day. I overheard their disappointment while I was working at my station, and decided to intervene and offer them a personal tour of UCBA so that they could get the extra information without traveling down from Columbus once again. They were very appreciative and their son is now set to confirm with us for Fall 2020.

As for classes, I had a Spanish Exam and a Research Methods and Statistics exam. I got 115% on the Spanish Exam with extra credit and an 88% on the Research Methods and Statistics Exam. I am one happy camper!

Next week will keep me busy -- so until then!
